The Sneffels Regional Youth Climate Summit is an interactive, youth-driven conference that allows high school students from across the region to connect across county lines, explore climate change science, local impacts and community solutions. The summit will be held at the Telluride Science and Innovation Center and welcomes high school aged students from across South West Colorado. Co-led by local high schoolers and EcoAction Partners and sponsored by the Telluride Science and Innovation Center, Telluride Institute and Lyra Colorado, the central focus of the summit is to cultivate collective resilience in our rural, remote mountain communities. The summit will include Climate Science 101 information, youth-led presentations, nature connection, a green career pathway expo, breakout learning workshops, group eco-art projects, and concrete climate action activities ranging from learning about policy advocacy to creating specific climate action projects for our schools and communities.
