Demystifying the Quantum World

JULY 11, 6:30 PM
Telluride conference center

Presented by Michael R. Wasielewski  Professor of Chemistry and Applied Physics at Northwestern University, Director of the Initiative for Quantum Information Research and Engineering

Many of us have heard about quantum computers and some of the amazing things that they will do, literally a “quantum leap” in performance. However, this is not the whole story. The quantum world and innovative technologies being developed from it will significantly enhance secure communications and be capable of sensing single atoms and molecules, even when they are within living cells. How does this work? What does the strange world of quantum properties offer us? This short talk will delve into some of the possibilities. Learn more in this recent article on Telluride Inside & Out.
